Who can live in KVS housing?
To be eligible to live in housing provided by the Kiwanis Village Society, Applicants:
- Must be at least 55 years of age
- Must be able to live independently
- Must have Total Gross Income from all sources not exceeding $3,500 per month for a single person, and $4,500 per month for a couple.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident
Priority is given to applicants who have resided in BC during the last two years.
How do I apply?
Complete and sign the application. Then:
- Attach copies of 3 recent months of bank statements
- Attach a copy of your most recent Notice of Assessment from Revenue Canada
(can be downloaded from your My CRA Account) - Drop off or mail your application to 1419 Mallek Crescent, Victoria, BC V8T 2R3 or
- Fax it to 250-595-6106 or
- Scan and email it to reception@kvsv.org
How much does housing cost?
Rents as of March 2026 are:
- BACHELOR APARTMENT IN K.A.C. $935 per month
- ONE-BEDROOM APARTMENT IN K.A.C.$1,100 per month
- TWO-BEDROOM APARTMENT IN K.A.C. $1,460 per month
- ONE-BEDROOM APARTMENT IN K.V.A. $900 - $1,045 per month
- BACHELOR COTTAGE - Victoria $600 - $650 per month
- ONE-BEDROOM COTTAGE – Victoria $750 - $1,100 per month
- PRIVATE ROOM WITH PRIVATE BATH – Hetherington House $800 per month
- ONE-BEDROOM COTTAGE – Sidney $775 - $975 per month
NOTE: K.A.C = Kiwanis Apartments on Cook and K.V.A = Kiwanis Village Apartments
For KAC, a $60 common area maintenance fee is added to the rent.
Are there any additional fees
When available, storage is $25 per month.
In Kiwanis Village, parking is limited. When available, parking is $25 per month.
Can I apply for Shelter Aid For Elderly Renters (SAFER)?
All residents of Kiwanis Village housing are eligible to apply for SAFER.
